How To Use Mods With Optifine Rating: 5,0/10 1014 reviews

First off, I'm new to Minecraft and Mods in general.

Head to the first page of the thread. Click the (to the left of the thread. Scroll down until you see 'Download' and click it. You should then end up with a.zip file. Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar or.zip file) into the Mods folder. When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed.

There are 2 mods that I would rather not play the game without... those being my minimap (Xaeros Minimap in this case) and TreeChopper.

Since I discovered OptiFine, and play on a less than spectacular PC, I'd really like to start using it for the massive FPS boost.

The 2 aforementioned mods were installed before OptiFine, using forge, and were the only mods installed. So, to my knowledge, it would seem those mods are not compatible with OptiFine.

I can always switch to my Forge profile when I need to use TreeChopper, but ideally I would love to play using both a minimap and OptiFine.

I realize with a quick Google search, I could probably find a compatible minimap mod, but the waypoints contained in my current minimap are crucial to my world and I'd hate to lose all my saved locations.

My question I suppose would be is there anyway to transfer these waypoints to a compatible minimap mod, or am I possibly doing something wrong and my current mod is actually compatible with OptiFine?

Is Optifine Compatible With Forge

All feedback is welcome, sorry if this post is a bit choppy, I am also brand new to Reddit, but I tried to be as clear as possible.

Thanks in advance!

In Optifine (minecraft), I want to know how to zoom in. I have tried all f keys and I have tried looking at controls. Optifine is installed and is running.

Default key: Ctrl

If that doesn't work look for the option under Options > Controls > Zoom. Now you can see what key is bound for zooming. If you want to rebind it, click on the key next to the 'Zoom' and press the key you want to rebind it to.

Actually, for most new optifine users, in 1.8 the default key for running is in fact Ctrl and optifine therefore makes the default key for zoom C. This is just if CTRL is not working :).

It's just C, or if it dosen't, work try Ctrl. If it still doesn't work, go to control settings and then to miscellaneous. Find zoom and change it to the key you want.

You use the C key, and if that isn't working, try Ctrl, if all else fails, go to settings, controls, and find the zoom setting, also, if your spring key is set as C or Left Ctrl they might not either work because their fighting each other for the control. So make sure the two controls aren't overlapping each other, you can tell because the button will be red in the control settings.

It depends on what version of Optifine you installed. If it's lower than 1.8, it will probably be Left-CTRL. But if it's installation was based on a certain version and you play on another, your keys might be messed up. The best option is to go to Settings, and Miscellaneous. Go to the Zoom option, and look at the key it's based on. If it's red, set it to another, as it means that it's also controlling another option.

C is the zoom in key, but you have to have Optifine.

If you are running the optifine forge version it is ctrl, if you are using vanilla optifine, it is c
